Sunday Tribune article.

Just back from a relaxing break in Portaventura in Salou in Spain, if you have kids or your just a big kid yourself, I fully recommend this place. Anyhow back to reality I arrived home yesterday and picked up a copy of the Sunday Tribune only to see this article about me in the arts section, okay okay I knew they were printing it!! anyway here's the article in full. And if you happen to be in Dublin next Sunday, don't forget to drop into the Green Gallery to see some new paintings from artists such as myself and Mark Baker, see STARS fo more information.

Ronnie Drew Portrait
Here's another painting from my upcoming exhibition. For those of you not from Ireland, he's the legendery gravel voiced singer from
"The Dubliners".
His health has been poor in recent years as he's suffering from cancer and as a result he's lost his trademark beard and hair, however this is how I and I'm sure the majority of people will remember him.
It's acrylic on canvas and is 100 x 70 cm in size.

Matt Damon caricature
This was done for a competition on the NCN which is a great forum for professional caricaturists around the world. This painting is 12 x 16 inches in size and it's acrylic on canvas board. The sketch took about an hour and I spent roughly 4hours painting it.As with all these competitions I'd love to able to spend longer working on them, but there's bills to to paid!!

Horse racing caricatures
One of the spin offs of my book "Characters of the Turf" was the amount of commission's I got from people in the horse racing circles who wanted their own caricature done.

HEADCASES!!!!!
Well it aired last night on ITV, did you see what did you think????? My own opinion was it lacked the realism of the original, with the 3d puppets looking too plastic, the designers also must have a problem with adding wrinkles as some of the characters looked a tad young, Tony Blair and Judie Dench comes to mind. I also thought the likeness on a few of them was off (well I would say that wouldn't I) with Jordan not really hitting the mark and a rather strange full head of hair Jeremy Clarkson being another. Those minor niggles aside I have to say I enjoyed it especially the Madonna part at the end, also Posh's, Amy Wino and Pete Doherty's walk were worth watching it for alone.Anything that brings caricatures to attention of the public should only be encouraged, I hope it's a big success for the creators.

Loadza caricatues!
Not sure what's going on, I've had a huge amount of gift caricatures since Xmas, this is normally a quieter time of the year, still I'm not complaining! From Snap printers,Cadbury's to McInerney Homes, some of the biggest companies in Ireland and everyday folk who want a unusual gift for as I say" the person who has everything" have commissioned me to do a caricature for them. All my gift caricatures are hand drawn and painted with watercolour and come framed and mounted as standard.
